Cold water storage tanks may provide breeding grounds for bacteria such as Legionella should they become contaminated and subject to elevated water temperatures. Under the ACoP L8 & Technical Guidance HSG274, stored water requires routine monitoring and assessment to prevent the risk of Legionella.
